



The REP Athena® side-mount functional trainer is a low-profile cable attachment that integrates neatly into the side of your REP PR-5000 power rack, giving you the benefits of a functional trainer without the footprint of a separate machine. It’s a space-efficient way to add accessory work, isolation exercises, and cable training to your setup, with even more room-saving options available through in-rack, off-rack, or wing add-on storage.
Offering a lower price point and smaller footprint than the Ares™ Attachment, the Athena® delivers serious cable training versatility in a compact package. It uses a 2:1 pulley ratio, so 20 lbs feels like 10 lbs (≈9 kg feels like 4.5 kg), making it ideal for controlled, smooth cable movements. Choose either a plate-loaded version or a selectorised version to suit your training style and gym setup.
The plate-loaded Athena® features weight horns with a 10.6" loadable length each (≈26.9 cm) and a maximum capacity of 540 lbs (≈245 kg), which feels like 270 lbs (≈122.5 kg) at the handle. The selectorized Athena® uses dual weight stacks of 170 lbs per side (≈77 kg per side), with the option to upgrade each stack to 220 lbs (≈100 kg), while the 2:1 ratio makes that feel like 85 lbs (≈38.5 kg) or 110 lbs (≈50 kg) respectively. The stacks use hot-rolled steel plates with a 3% tolerance and a magnetic pin for fast, easy weight changes.
You can configure the Athena® as a left-side, right-side, or dual-sided setup, depending on how you want to build out your rack. Its patent-pending trolley system lets you train at any height on the upright, while a protective plastic lining helps reduce wear. The oversized pop-pin makes one-handed adjustments easy, and the added security pin keeps everything locked in during use.
For smooth, durable performance, the Athena® uses galvanized steel cables with a raw steel core and aluminum pulleys, including 180-degree swivel front pulleys for added range and versatility when working outside the rack. It also comes with a urethane D-handle and is compatible with a wide range of cable attachments. Integrated band pegs on the base and headplate let you add accommodating resistance for even more training options.
